Handstripping
What's included?
Full groom includes; a full health check followed by a relaxing bath with natural shampoo, blow dry, nails trimmed, ears cleaned/plucked (if needed) and breed specific trim all in a dog friendly environment.
Sometimes more than one appointment is needed to fully handstrip a coat if the dog is not used to being handstripped.
Why handstrip?
Handstripping removes all of the dead hair from in the coat. This leaves the coat in much better condition because all of the dead hair is pulled out by hand. If the dog is clippered then all of the dog's dead hair remains in the coat, this can leave the coat a dull lighter colour.
Factors to consider
If you are thinking about getting your dog handstripped think about age, if your dog is older than about 6 months and they haven't been used to being on the grooming table before then this could be quite stressful for them. This can take up to 9 hours so you should get your dog used to it while it is a puppy.
Price
This is dependant on breed, size and age of dog, when they were last groomed and how matted they are. This is usually more expensive than clippering. Please contact us for an upto date price list.
